Handcrafted and hand-finished out of solid Bloodwood, this cutting and serving board was inspired by red envelopes that are handed out during Lunar New Year. This board features inlays of solid Yellowheart that emulate the folded over flaps of typical red envelopes with an inlaid Padauk Chinese calligraphy "fu" character - a symbol of happiness, blessing, and good fortune.
This board can be used as both a cutting board and a serving board during your Lunar New Year celebration, but it is recommended to cut on the side without the inlay and keep the side with inlay as primarily a serving service.
NOTE - We also recommend to avoid cutting directly on the inlay pieces to keep their appearance as smooth.
As with all our boards, this special board is carefully selected, cut, smoothed, and finished with mineral oil and beeswax - an hours-long process that is done completely by hand. Over time, the wood surface will beautifully patina, a reminder of all the wonderful meals prepared and enjoyed with family and friends.
