Handcrafted and hand-finished out of solid Curly Maple, this cutting and serving features a detailed inlaid orange and red envelope. The orange is made from solid Osage Orange and features an inlaid Lignum Vitae leaf. The red envelope is made from solid Padauk and features an inlaid calligraphy Yellowheart "fu" Chinese calligraphy "fu" character - a symbol of happiness, blessing, and good fortune.
The natural vivid oranges, reds, and yellows of the Osage, Bloodwood, and Yellowheart stand out against the beautiful undulating chatoyant wood pattern of the flamed Curly Maple. This board features a leather strap with a brass grommet on the back, ideal for easy transport or hanging on the wall when not in use.
 
This board can be used as both a cutting board and a serving board, but it is recommended to cut on the side without the inlay and keep the side with inlay as primarily a serving service. 
 
NOTE - We also recommend to avoid cutting directly on the inlay pieces to keep their appearance as smooth. Avoid getting leather strap wet when rinising or cleaning your board.
 
As with all our boards, this special board is carefully selected, cut, smoothed, and finished with mineral oil and beeswax - an hours-long process that is done completely by hand. Over time, the wood surface and the leather strap will beautifully patina, a reminder of all the wonderful meals prepared and enjoyed with family and friends.
